In October 2021, Scott and the Varta brand collaborated to launch the Varta Recycling Program in Mauritius, aimed at promoting responsible behaviours and reforestation.
This program involves collecting used Varta batteries from hotel partners and ensuring their proper recycling and recovery with the help of B.E.M Recycling. Additionally, for every 10KG of used batteries collected, the program commits to planting one endemic tree.
In 2022, the Varta Recycling Program achieved a significant milestone, collecting 266KG of used Varta batteries. As part of the commitment to reforestation, a ceremony was organized today (Tuesday 21 March 2023) which is the International Day of Forests, where 27 endemic trees were planted at the Citadel with the support of the Forena – Fondation Resources et Nature.
The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Harald Bartsch, the International Sales Consultant VARTA for the Southern Africa Region, and representatives from hotels that have joined the Varta Recycling Program, including Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels, One&Only Le Saint Géran, Radisson Blu Azuri Resort & Spa Hotel, Heritage Resorts and Constance Hotels & Resorts, amongst others.
In today’s world, where environmental issues are becoming increasingly pressing, it is essential to take action to preserve our planet. The Varta Recycling Program is one of the ways we can contribute to this effort by promoting responsible behaviours and reforestation.
We extend our gratitude to our partners and look forward to furthering our efforts to create a more sustainable future. By working together, we can make a positive impact on our planet and ensure a better future for generations to come.
Thanks, I’ve been looking for this for a long time
